Born in Cambridge, MA, he was a son of the late Anthony and Marjorie (Tupper) Brayton. He spent his childhood in Weston MA, graduating from Weston High School.
Chris received a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He had a successful career as a mechanical engineer working for the Polaroid Corporation in Cambridge for over 30 years, traveling the world extensively for the company.
Chris married his first wife, Dianne (Macleod) in 1955. They had four children together, (Gary, Scott, Alan and Kevin), and raised the boys in Needham, MA.
Christopher was an avid reader, loved the ocean and collected and repaired clocks. He and his wife Jane were very involved in charitable events and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his sons, Gary Brayton and wife Jeanie, Scott Brayton and wife Mo, Dr. Alan Brayton and wife Milissa and Kevin Brayton and wife Anne Marie; his step-daughters, Laura Williams and Emily Willoughby; his sister, Barbara Brayton Bailey; his grandchildren, Kelly Fulgoni, Ryan Brayton, Casey Higgins, Adam Brayton, Hayley Middleburg, Christopher Brayton, Ansel Brayton, Dalani Brayton, Hunter Brayton, Summer Brayton. As well as three step grandchildren Nell Ovitt, Violet Willoughby and Georgia Willoughby and 6 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a younger brother, Donald Brayton.
