Beverly M. (Fournier) Rezendes, age 80, of Dartmouth, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Care One in New Bedford. She was the wife of Antonio Rezendes with whom she shared 60 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Gerard and Mary Lucy (Martin) Fournier, she graduated from Fairhaven High School class of 1962 and was a graduate of B. Thorn Bible Institute as a Certified Pastoral Counselor with RTF of N.C., member of AACC.
Along with her husband, she co-pastored at Agape Fellowship in Fairhaven and in 1984 established Church of the New Testament, currently known as New Seasons Worship Center, where they resided as Senior Overseers. She was ordained with Apostolic Resource Ministries of Indiana, and Christian International of Florida. In 1999, they established Apostolic Covenant Ministries and T.L.M. and traveled extensively in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Australia, Belize, Guatemala and Mexico.
Beverly and her husband Tony were affectionately known as “Papa Tony and Mama Bev” as well as regarded as “Grandparents” to numerous young people and their families in the ministry.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Lisa –Marie Rinker and her husband Gene; a son, Matthew Rezendes and his wife Randi; a granddaughter, Jessica Teixeira and her husband Peyton; and in-laws, Judy Rapoza, Maria Peabody and her husband Thomas, and Silvino Rezendes and his wife Edith and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister-in-law of the late Iberia, Joseph and Manuel Rapoza.
The family will greet guests in church on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 9:00-10:00 am with a Memorial Service beginning at 10:00 am in the New Seasons Worship Center, 34 County Rd., East Freetown. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Beverly’s name can be made to Tunnel for Towers, 2362 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10306.
