Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late John H. and Josephine B. (Armstrong) Martin, she had resided in Acushnet for the past 46 years.
Mrs. Toussaint was a talented hairdresser who worked for the Brooklawn Funeral Home and Fairlawn Mortuary for over 40 years. She formerly owned a beauty shop in New Bedford and worked as a seamstress in local textile mills.
She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed dining out with family and friends. Most of all, she loved and cherished the time shared with her family, especially her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were her pride and joy.
Survivors include her daughter, Lillian Garbaciak and her husband Ronald; grandchildren, Patricia Laferriere and her husband Robert and Sharon Garbaciak; great-grandchildren, Meagan, Jocelyn, Lindsey, Renee and Nicole; great-great-grandchildren, Dylan and Aliah; her loving nieces, Marguerite McCuen and Madeleine Bristow; and several nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Armand Martin, Ovila Martin, Beatrice Guillet, Lilianne Martin and Simone Muir.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 9am from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven followed by a funeral mass at 10am in St. Francis Xavier Parish, 125 Main St., Acushnet. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday 5-8pm. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
