the union of Earnest and Loretta Thompson in Boston, VA.
Sherman started working for INOVA as a security officer in his
early twenties. He was such a busy man and a hard worker that
he also worked at Reston Hospital at the same time. He loved
his jobs and remained working them both until his health forced
him to cut back.
His hobbies included taking care of his dog Neko and playing
with electronics. He was inspired by exploring new business
adventures. He took pleasure in making people laugh. His
jokes and playful moods were enjoyed by family and friends.
He was a devoted father, grandfather, mentor and a great friend
to many.
Sherman departed this life on Saturday, April 3, 2020. He was
preceded in death by his father, Earnest Thompson, his brother,
Michael Thompson, his sister Frankie Sutton, and his nephew
Tyreque Slaughter.
He leaves to cherish his memory: two children Shadaman
Thompson (Rosa) and Shannon Thompson; mother Loretta
Thompson; sisters Gertrude Slaughter, Artroe Miller
(William), Joann Thompson, Delores Varner (Lawrence), Julia
Thompson and Claire Bartalos, grandchildren Shala and
Sophia Thompson and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and
friends.
