 Obituario de Richard Maxwell Arthur
Richard Maxwell Arthur, 56 years old, passed away on December12, 2023. Shortly after midnight on the 12th, Rick was suddenly and unexpectedly called home to the Lord after being diagnosed with the flu 12 hours earlier. Rick is lovingly remembered by his wife of 31 years, Candy; his daughter and future son-in-law, Annabelle and Adam; his mother and her husband Carolyn and Mark Steinberg; His older brother and his wife, Jay and Lisa Arthur; his younger brother and his wife, David and Stephanie Arthur; and many nieces and nephews whom adored Rick in his role as "the Fun Uncle". Rick and Candy's daughter, Gabrielle Alexa Arthur (August 3, 1994- August 6, 1994), his nephew, Jimmy Arthur (June 4, 1987 - September 10,2022), his father Jim Arthur (November 20, 1941 - March 23, 1992), and his "damn mother-in-law" as he affectionately called her, Gail Cameron (January 26, 1947- July 5, 2002) were waiting for him with open arms. Rick was a former Fairfax County firefighter and paramedic. He most recently was a Fairfax County Public School bus driver, where he was a favorite of children, teachers, and other drivers because of his geographical knowledge, eagerness to help, and extensive playlists of music. He was also Operations Manager at Wolf Trap National Park. While in Stand 2, he made it his mission to not only take top-notch care of the patrons, but his humorous interactions with his co-workers made him a joy to work with. Rick was happiest when he was making others laugh and smile. "Love your job and you will never work a day in your life" was a motto he carried while working at Build-a-Bear, Chuck E. Cheese and as a clown and magician. Rick couldn't pass up a silly hat or costume, funny animal videos, or a chance to be goofy with anyone who was in earshot. And yet he was able to flip the switch when necessary to help someone in need. Loyalty and the need to help others ran deep with Rick. There will be a visitation for Rick on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 4pm-7pm at Demaine Fairfax Funeral Home, 10565 Main Street, Fairfax, Virginia. There will be a formal celebration of life in February.
