Reynato Edmundo Lacuna Legaspi, 73, of Fairfax, Virginia died peacefully at his home on January 20, 2018. Rey was born on November 16, 1944 in Nueva Ecija, Philippines. He was the youngest son of Dr. Nicanor Paderes Legaspi, a U.S. Army Veteran of the 2nd World War, and Constancia Crespo Lacuna, a Pharmacist. Rey was a top honors graduate of Lourdes High School, Q.C. Philippines and a Scholar, Graduate of Mechanical Engineering at De la Salle University in Manila, Philippines. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1971, following his brother to Baltimore, Maryland. Rey married Lourdes Abesamis on October 23, 1971 at St. Matthew's Cathedral in Washington DC. He worked for over 50 years as an HVAC design engineer and spent over 28 years at EK Fox & Associates in Fairfax before retiring in 2016.
Rey was a selfless father and grandfather who gave generously of himself on every occasion. He had a love of travel (visiting over 50 countries on 6 continents) and could always be counted on to find the best deal in any situation. Rey was survived by his wife, Lourdes Abesamis Legaspi, daughters Lori Legaspi (Stefan) Moores and Lisette Legaspi, siblings Dr. Alfredo L. Legaspi and Mrs Teodora L. Obias, and grandchildren, Thomas, Nicholas and Matthias Moores. He will be missed greatly by his family, friends and colleagues.
