Marjorie Reynolds Gibbs "Marge" (Age 93), went to meet her Savior on July 9, 2016. She was a resident of Sunrise Assisted Living at Reston Town Center. Marge was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, William (Bill) Henry Gibbs. They shared almost 60 years in marriage. Born in Pittsboro, Indiana on May 25, 1923 to Chester and Viola Reynolds, Marge was one of eight children. She joined the United States Navy as a WAVE during WWII. Due to her husband''s U.S. Navy career, Marge traveled to many duty stations, including Egypt and Hawaii. Bill called her "The Rock" because she kept the solid foundation of the family during his 27 years of service. Marge was a deacon of Bush Hill Presbyterian Church and served as a Worthy Matron of the Nellie Custis Chapter 169, Order of the Eastern Star. She was selfless, charitable, extremely patriotic, creative, and joyful. Marge put all of her love, time, energy, and talent in service to others and to her family. She is survived by her two daughters, Faith Vogl (Walter) and Hope Gibbs (Robert Lennox); their children, respectively, Matthew (Lillian), Greg, Grant and Alexis (Donny); Jamie, Chance (Erika) and Toni (Jeffrey). Marge had three great-grandchildren, Felicity, Mark and Laura. She has one surviving sibling, Barbara Ellen Reynolds Henderson of Avon, IN. A viewing will be held at Demaine Funeral Home, 10565 Main St., Fairfax, VA 22030 on July 16 from 2 to 6 p.m.. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Herbert Charles Hunter Memorial Masonic Temple, 7001 Backlick Rd., Springfield, VA 22150 on July 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made in support of our veterans.
