John Edward Weston

Lt. Col. John E. Weston, USAF Ret. (Age 99) Born in New Britain, CT and died on August 9, 2016, at home in Fairfax, VA. Husband of 42 years of Ruth Weston. Father of Michael and James Weston. Father in law to Kristin Weston. Brother to JoAnne Fish. Grandfather of Harry Weston. Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews and dear friend to many. Proceeded in death by son Mark and wife Jackie. Lt. Col. Weston served as a B-17 Aircraft Commander in the 8th Air Force during WWII flying 31 combat missions over occupied Europe. After service in Korea and Vietnam, he retired from the USAF in 1971 and worked for the Central Intelligence Agency. Always wanting to serve his country, Mr. Weston continued working until the age of 98 for the State Department Bureau of Diplomatic Security. A viewing will held from 5pm-8pm on Friday August 12 at Demaine Funeral Home in Fairfax City, VA. There will be a funeral Mass at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church at 11am on Saturday, August 13. Internment will be later at Arlington National Cemetery.
