We remember David Eugene Gilbert, whose spirit unexpectedly departed from us on October 13, 2024, at the age of 64. David, a caring, compassionate soul who accepted those around him with a open heart, was a gentle giant teddy bear of a man.
David was passionate about cars, music, and his family. David had left behind an indelible mark on the hearts of an all that were fortunate enough to know him.
He was predeceased by his father John Francis Gilbert Sr., Mother Ruby Janette Burdette Gilbert, brother John " Jack" Gilbert Jr., and sister Robin Hugh.
David leaves behind three children, David James Gilbert, Julie Farrell (Monty), and Aimie Gilbert Price, one granddaughter Penelope Price, a brother Christephor Gilbert (Donald) and a former spouse and lifelong dear friend, Diana Gilbert.
To commemorate the love he spread, the family will host a time of being together and sharing stories at Fairdale-McDaniel Funeral Home, Friday October 25, 4-8 pm. At 7:30, will be a service of reflections and memories. We invite all who knew him to join us in remembering a truly kind soul.
