Rita M. Glendenning

Glendenning, Rita Marie (Barnes) age 76 from Fairborn, Ohio passed away in Hospice of Dayton on May/4/2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Rita was born on January 20, 1936 in Huntington, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Delsie Barnes, her sister Eunice (Barnes) Coates, her step brother Maurice Barnes and most recently Maurices’s wife Roxie Barnes, all from Huntington, Indiana.. She is survived by her loving husband of over 55 years, William H. Glendenning and their three children, Michael R. Glendenning and his wife Anita from Beavercreek, Ohio, Jeffrey A. from San Antonio, Texas. Rita had eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was an avid bowler and golfer. She loved crocheting and did lots of counted cross stitch. She did lots of volunteer work at WPAFB Medical Center with the Red Cross. She also drove the transportation van and cars for the Fairborn Senior Center for many years. Viewing will be at Burcham Jennings Funeral Home at 119 East Main St. in Fairborn, Ohio from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, May 6. Services will be at Burcham Jennings Funeral Home on Monday, May 7 at 1:00 PM with internment at Dayton VA Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, Ohio 45420.
