Dave Wood

Leslie David Wood “Dave”, age 74 of Fairborn died on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at home. He was born the son of Leslie & Ethel (Bryant) Wood on December 24, 1939 in Dayton. Dave is preceded in death by his parents, wife Billie Joyce Wood, sisters Thelma Davis and Connie Wood, and a brother Lee Wood. Dave is survived by his daughter Diana (Dee Dee) & Joe Hobbs of Fairborn, son David Wood of Fairborn, sisters Faye Taylor, Nancy Watts, and Mary Goings, brothers Danny Wood, Don & Martha Wood, and Frank & Shirley Wood, grandchildren Joe & Brenda Hobbs, Shari & John LeBrun, Sarah & Josh Chrum, and Jeff Wood, great grandchildren Leslianna, Liam, Levi, Joselyn, Andrew, and Lilly. Brother, Friend, Son, Dad, and Grampy, he was a strong independent person, with a big heart. He loved his family and was fiercely loyal and protective. He was everyone’s rock. We all leaned on him and loved him dearly. He was a loving father, husband, and grandfather. He loved his work and he was one of the hardest working men most will have ever known. He enjoyed spending time with his family and looked forward to the day he would be back with his loving wife Joyce. Though he lives on in our hearts, he will be missed. Friends may call on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 5PM-7PM at Burcham Jennings Funeral Home 119 E. Main St. Fairborn, Ohio 45324 where memorial services will be held at 7PM.
