January 13, 1933 - November 9, 2024
Wanda passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024, after a short battle with a broken heart from the passing of her husband Robert (94) of 66yrs, three weeks prior. Wanda was born in Brookfield Missouri, one of eleven children, January 13, 1933.
Wanda was a farm girl who ventured into the city after graduating high school to start work and build a life on her own. It was there that she met the love of her life on a blind date, Robert Peak a Kansas City Police Officer. While they were dating,
Robert joined the Air Force. He was stationed in Germany when he proposed to her in a letter. Wanda followed her heart and they married in Germany on October 11,1958 where they stared their family of 3 children with a son.
Wanda was a dedicated wife and mother bravely taking care of the family through each of Robert’s deployments on her own until her younger sister Charolette joined the family in California. It was then that she was able to learn to drive,
Which she had a fear of, but conquered? Wanda kept herself busy outside the home by attending all her children’s events that she could, being a volunteer for the military Family Services and bowling with her sister on a league.
She was a talented seamstress along with knitting and crocheting plus a wonderful cook. She also enjoyed refinishing furniture when the opportunity arose. They settled in North Highlands, California after Robert retired from the Air Force in 1973.
It was here that they raised their family and opened their hearts and home to many of their children’s friends. Their house was a safe place to gather and everyone one was welcome. Wanda will be missed by many who considered her to be a Mom
To them and will miss her wonderful sense of humor and guidance.
She is survived by her children Brian Peak (Bonnie), Sheri Peak, Ronda Peak-Snow (Larry) Grandchild: Jordan Peak (Madalynne), Great grandchild: Sawyer Peak Siblings: Rayma Smith
Honorary family: Dina, Maleeya, Lyric and Tim Tilman
