She is predeceased by her parents, seven siblings, and her husband Bill Jones. She is survived by her three children, Michael (spouse Carole), Stephen, and Karen (spouse Michael), stepson Daryl (spouse Ann) Jones, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Wanda found a passion for travel while married to John as he was in the Navy and they were required to move fairly frequently. She lived in many states, including Alaska and Hawaii, and was lucky enough to live in a small fishing village in Scotland.
Wanda waited until her children were in high school before she completed her college education. She attended the University of Hawaii and finished her degree at Coker College in Hartsville S.C. She became a middle school teacher, then much later became an aesthetician, and subsequently a medical historian.
Wanda later moved to Boise Idaho to be close to her younger sister Ruby. While living there she met, fell in love with and married Bill Jones, he was her companion and best friend until his unfortunate passing ten years later. Her love for travel was shared by her late spouse. They had the good fortune to travel throughout the U.S. and Europe.
Earlier in life Wanda enjoyed snow skiing, golfing, and long walks. Wanda was an avid reader, loved classical music and was a remarkable cook. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and was a very kind person. She will be missed by all.
A service for Wanda will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 18 at Mount Vernon Memorial Park in Fair Oaks.
