Saraiah Acosta, 18, passed away unexpectedly on February 1, 2023. Saraiah was born on July 19, 2004, in Salinas, CA and is survived by her parents, Anthony and Minnie Martinez, her father, Joseph Acosta, siblings, Anthony, Scarlett and Lola Martinez; grandparents Linda Chavez, Angelica Jaramillo, and Cindy Bernal; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins; Uncle Rudy Garcia and Aunt Crystal Valazquez. Saraiah is preceded in death by her uncle, Eddie (Lalito) Guijosa Jr, who passed away on December 28, 2013.
Saraiah graduated from Cordova High School in 2022. She was currently an employee at Sam’s Club in Folsom, CA where she loved socializing and helping customers have a great shopping experience every day. Saraiah wanted to work as a Cosmetologist while pursuing an education to one day become a Family and Marriage Counselor.
Saraiah was involved in sports throughout her life but the sport she was most passionate about was softball where she later earned her nickname, “Sirarcha”. Another passion Saraiah had was music; she loved all genres and could switch from R&B, to Oldies, to Spanish, to Gospel and know every word to every song at a drop of a dime. She was what one would call an “old soul”.
Saraiah was a very happy, energetic, and loving young lady. She loved her family and loved her friends and has always been described as “the life of the party”! Not only did she love music, but she loved dancing and she loved creating TikTok videos with her sisters.
Saraiah was a wonderful person who would encourage you to live everyday as if it was your last day; she simply lit up every room she walked into. She was the person people turned to for advice or for guidance when they needed help or were struggling with anything; she always went out of her way to make sure she impacted one’s life and motivated you to be happy.
