Josh served his country for five years with honor and integrity. He was stationed in Hawaii and did a year tour in Iraq. He earned the rank of Sergeant in the Army and is a distinguished combat veteran.
After his time in the U.S. military, Josh earned an Associate degree with a major in psychology and was certified as a personal fitness trainer. He was an avid reader of a wide variety of books especially those of a philosophical nature. Through discipline he reached a high level of standards, both mental and physical, to elevate his awareness and connection of mind, body, and spirit.
Josh became an example that others could follow. Lending a helping hand and contributing to others became his way of life. His actions spoke louder than words. Josh’s caring spirit and generous heart impacted everyone that knew him. He had a special gift of not only seeing the good in people but bringing out the best in them as well.
The relationship he had with his son was like no other. They cherished their time spent together which was filled with love and laughter. He valued his family, friends, and community sharing his wonderful sense of humor and contagious smile.
When you think of Josh, celebrate the good memories you have of him. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest. He will be missed more than any words could express but he will be forever in our hearts until we meet again.
Josh is survived by his Son, Behr Zimmerman, his Mother Liane Freels and step-dad Troy Freels, his Father Terry Zimmerman, his Brother Spencer Zimmerman, his Grandparents Laurel and Stan Burrow, his loving Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
