Jason grew up in Amador County and graduated from Argonaut High School. He participated in the Mother Lode Youth Soccer League from the age of 5 up until he was 14. His true passion was competitive swimming. He started with the Amador Polar Bears Swim Team at the age of 9 and remained until he joined the Argonaut High School Swim Team. He attended Sierra College and truly enjoyed his time with the Sierra College Swim Team, where he achieved “All America” in the backstroke. After graduation, Jason pursued a career in law enforcement, graduated from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Academy on November 22, 2019, and started his career as a Corrections Officer at Folsom State Prison, where he took his job seriously and had plans to promote. For Jason the best part of the job was the comradery that he had with his fellow Officers!! They were his other family…brothers and sisters.
Jason enjoyed spending time with his brother and cousins at the family cabin where he spent hours fishing, swimming, and catching all manner of insects. Numerous family trips to Santa Cruz over the years became a family tradition.
Jason loved his pets, which he had many. His first pet was a cat named Pussums that lived to the age of 21 years, Welsh Corgi named Red, pet chickens, Scrubby the Scrub Jay that he raised and successfully released back to the wild, and even had a pet tarantula named Sheila, and too numerous other pets to mention.
Jason had a great interest in World War II stories told to him by his grandpa, Josef Neuschmid, and was an avid reader of Roman and World War II history books.
He had a Goofy sense of humor with a contagious laugh; thought “South Park” and “Impractical Jokers” were funny. His little brother made him laugh a lot; the two of them always had some kind of inside joke that Mom and Dad just didn’t get.
Jason was a beautiful person, kind, and had a very big heart. We will miss you…we love you!
Jason is survived by his mother Marianne Neuschmid; father Eric Neuschmid; brothers Michael Neuschmid and Sean Neuschmid; sister Sonya Klyn.
