Edith (Edie) Lillian Johnson went to her eternal home with the Lord on July 10, 2022. Edie was born in Kansas City, Kansas on May 17, 1926 to Bessie and Richard Crowson. She grew up in Twin Falls, Idaho, with her 10 sisters and brothers.
After finishing high school, Edie came to California where she worked for the Sierra Army Depot for two years. She moved to Sacramento area when the war ended, living most of her life in the Placerville and Sacramento region, keeping medical practice records for several area doctors.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Edie. She had a passion for gardening and loved tending her flower beds and vegetables. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends, always greeting you with a smile. Her Christian faith was central to her life.
Edie was preceded in death by her parents, former husband Lester Edgar, siblings Ninah Brugh, Margrett Anderson, Doris Morsey, Mabel Taylor, Joan Marie Crowson, Harold Crowson and Richard Crowson. Remaining to cherish her memory are husband Leonard, sisters Agnes Rieger, Thelma Roberta Mount and Frances Wallace, children Jack and Linda Lute, and numerous grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Edie was well-loved by many people and will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held at Mt Vernon Mortuary on July 28th at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Liberty Quartet (www.libertyquartet.com) or the ALS Association Greater Sacramento (www.alssac.org).
