He is survived by his wife, Grace, sons Paul, Jeff and wife Eve, and step sons Steve,
Kenny and David Frechette. He also leaves his sister, Virginia Braunwarth, and nephews
Mike and Ted Braunwarth in Minnesota. He was born on September 9, 1936, in St. Paul
Minnesota.
After his first year of college in Minnesota, he transferred to Texas Lutheran University in
Seguin, Texas to complete his education. He started his working career as a sales representative
for a major meat company and moonlighted as a radio announcer in the upper peninsula of
Michigan. Then followed many years in sales of everything from greeting cards and office
furniture to ink vats and embalming supplies throughout the Midwest. The family reached California in 1964.
Tired of being 'on the road' he bought a furniture store in Davis in the late 70's and then a
metal fabrication business in Sacramento in the mid 80's after moving to Orangevale. His
remaining working life of about 20 years was as a real estate appraiser. He really enjoyed
this work. He closed his corporation and retired at the age of 72.
In his younger years he was active as a pilot, an avid skier in the winter, and a scuba diver
in the summer. In his retirement Dennis tended his garden and enjoyed watching the Giants,
Kings, and 49'ers at his beloved home in Orangevale. He was a friend of Bill's for over 32
years. Dennis was truly one of a kind as anyone who knew him would tell you. He is
already greatly missed by his family.
