aggressive cancer. Her loss was completely unexpected, and the family is shocked and
deeply saddened.
Carol was born on February 25, 1958 to Josephine Gwendolyn and Robert Bruce
Vaughan in Winter Haven, FL. Being a military brat and traveling around the globe, she
settled in Sacramento, Carol attended Foothill High School, Class of ‘76. After
graduating high school, Carol studied some college and had an interest in television
broadcasting. She married Peter Richard Osgood on July 19, 1986 and had two
children, Megan Danielle Adcock and Wayne Robert Osgood. Over a 35-year period, she
worked for local TV stations KVIE, Channel 58, KMAX/CBS and ABC.
Anyone who knew Carol knew that she was kind, loving, caring, warm, smart,
wonderful, and funny; a person you do not just meet, but her personality is one you
experience. She was an avid gardener who could save any plant she took in or was given.
Her favorites were her orchids and the creation of her fairy gardens. Carol spent much
of her free time watching and interacting with the birds and squirrels in her backyard.
She also had a passion for baking, crafting, ancestry, Outlander, and was always a source
of positivity. Carol’s family and friends will miss her more than words can say.
She is survived by many loving individuals, including her parents Josephine G. and
Robert B. Vaughan, her children Megan D. Adcock and Wayne R. Osgood, her siblings
Peter B. (Marlene) Vaughan, Diane I. Vaughan, Vicki M. (Rolando) Alonso, nieces, and
nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Peter R. Osgood, her mother and father
in-law Wayne W. and Alvira E. Osgood, pets Chip, Ricky, Higgins, Maggie, Tyson, and
Athena. Her silliness was contagious, and her laughter could fill a room with joy; she
was and still is a free spirit. A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, and friend.
