Barbara Ann Marshall, a cherished matriarch, died November 9, 2022 at the age of 84. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1938. At the age of 12, she moved to San Francisco with her parents John and Dolores Texiera, who preceded her in death. There she met Samuel Westley Marshall in 1956. That same year

they married, and soon started what would become their big, beautiful, chaotic family. They raised four children in their longtime home of Hayward. Barbara was warm, selfless, kind, and generous. She

was an amazing cook, and ensured that a guest in her house never went hungry. She loved sharing about her Portuguese heritage, and always prepared a batch of vina dosh (pickled pork) ahead of the big Christmas celebration. She was a voracious reader and a huge Elvis fan. She devoted her life to family and relished each visit with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved fiercely, and helped care for her beloved husband Sam until his death in 2013. Barbara is survived by her children Brenda Eckert, John, Sam and Jim Marshall, as well as her loving daughter-in-law Kathy Marshall, 18 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Mount Vernon Memorial Park & Mortuary on Monday November 21st. - Viewing at 11 am. Service at 1pm.
