surrounded by his loving family.
He worked as a machinist after serving his apprenticeship at Sumner Iron Works. He worked at several machine shops, Boeing, Bremerton Naval Station, Bayside Machine Shop, with a short stint as business agent for the Machinist Union and working his last 13 years and retiring from Western Gear in 1978. Bill and Irene enjoyed traveling to many foreign countries. Bill was active in steelhead, salmon and trout clubs. He also enjoyed wood carving with the Quilceda carvers. He was a lifetime member of the Eagles. Bill and Irene also spent countless hours in the Retired and Senior Volunteer program, Bill being senior source water protection mentor.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Irene; son, George Angela (Barbara) of Lake Stevens, WA; daughter, Anita Wallace (Brian) of Marysville, WA; grandchildren, Angie Wright (Darrin), Amy King (Ryan), Devin Angela (Jenn) and Dawn Angela (Dominic); great-grandchildren, Mitchell Firth, Chelan Firth, Logan Wright, Tristan King, Sarah King, Elizabeth Fish (Mitchell) and Kailee Garcia (Angel); and great-great-grandchildren, Abigail and Miguel.
A funeral service celebrating Bill's life will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012, 12 noon, Purdy & Walters with Cassidy Funeral Home, 1702 Pacific Ave., Everett, 425-252-2191. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials in Bill's name may be made to a charity of your choice .
