Ruth Eileen Schmidt

Ruth Eileen Schmidt at age 91, of Everett, Washington passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

On December 11, 1932, Ruth Eileen Johansen was born in Sultan, Washington to Alfred and Annie Johansen one of 6 daughters.

Ruth was raised in Snohomish County Washington attended schools in Snohomish and Arlington, after high school she moved to work in admin doing the payroll at Hanford Nuclear Power Plant in Richland Washington, then relocated to Long Beach, California, where she was married and had one son, Robert Philip Fritsche, Jr. She returned back to Washington and later divorced. Ruth worked for 6 years for Burnett Bros. Jewelers. She met and married Ernest Schmidt during that time, then went on to work at Snohomish County Treasurer's office for 25 years, retiring in 1992.

Ruth is preceded in death by 4 sisters, Edna Shepard; Marie Schelhammer, Annamae Murray and Margie Tiffault.

She is survived by her son, Robert Philip Fritsche, Jr; sister, Ruby Wheeler; 3 step-children, Susan (Michael) Ferguson; Toni (Dan) Pearce and Kurt Schmidt; 3 step-grandchildren, Stephanie, Jessica, Andrew and nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Evergreen Cemetery 4504 Broadway, Everett WA 98203.
