Jason O'Dell Smith was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas on October 15, 1987 and died in Lynwood, Washington on October 13, 2022 at the age of 34. A longtime resident of the Pacific Northwest, Jason grew up in the towns of Maltby and Monroe, Washington and settled as a young adult in Lynwood.
Jason was an avid outdoorsman, preferring the stillness of the woods to the bustle of the city. He was a survivalist, a gun enthusiast, an excellent marksman, and a strong believer in the Second Amendment.
As a son, brother, nephew, cousin, and uncle, he was a wholehearted jokester, always on the ready to cause a smile or encourage a laugh. As a friend and fellow citizen, he strived to do good work and to make the world a better place. And as a musician, he moved to his own beat while listening, intently, to the rhythm of others.
He is survived in life by his mother, Laura Smith; his sister, Jackie Neis; brother-in-law, TJ; nephews, Liam, Abel, and Ozzy; aunt, Terri O'Dell and cousin, Todd O'Dell [Kaysie, Brooke, Paige, and Quinn]; uncles, Steven O'Dell and Don Hicks, and his motorcycle enthusiast and co-rider father, Allen Smith. He is also survived by his beloved pet companion, Luna.
Memorials can be made to any animal rescue or no-kill shelter of your choice.
They say that "time takes all but memories" and Jason's memory will be a blessing.
He is predeceased by his Uncle Mike, Grandpa Jack and Grandma Lynn who always knew him as a blessing, and his nephew, Atlas, who never had the chance to meet his uncle Jason.
Rest or fish or hunt or ride in peace, J. We miss you and always will.
