Carl was preceded by his parents, Laurel Carl (LC) Poole and Anna (Annie) Amick-Poole, his brothers Pat and Ed and sister Meryl Poole. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Betty Louis Poole and his sister Shirley Allen Foster. Carl is also survived by his 3 children, Kevin, Alan and Deana with 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Carl grew up in Piedmont, Missouri on a homestead where the family ran a manual sawmill. He would cut trees down by hand, use a mule to drag the timber to the mill, and use the manually operated saw to cut dimensional lumber. The house they lived in was small, so Carl’s bed was the bathtub until his late teens.
In 1953 Carl joined the Army Air Core and later transferred into the US Airforce. Carl was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars and was awarded many medals. He retired from active duty after 21 years of meritorious service.
He then spent time at the US Postal Service, J&H Manufacturing and ended his working career at Boeing Aerospace in Everett, Washington retiring in August 1997. Carl was a faithful husband, dedicated soldier and loving father.
