Walter "Gene" Eugene Scott

Walter “Gene” Eugene Scott, 61, of Newburgh, left this world to be with Jesus Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was born May 13, 1951, in Evansville.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John Robert and Elvina Mary Scott, of Evansville; and sister-in-law, Lee Ann (Couturiaux) Hadley of Newburgh.

Gene is survived by his wife of 38 years on May 17, 2013, Cheryl of Newburgh; daughter, Courtney of Newburgh; sister, Mary Dennis and husband, Richard, of Boonville; brother, David Scott and wife, Jane of Evansville; sister-in-law, Gail Weyer and husband, Rob, of Evansville; brother-in-law, Don Couturiaux and wife, Tracy, of Evansville; brother-in-law, Dan Hadley of Evansville; nieces and nephews, Michael Dennis, Laura Williams and husband, Jason, Erin Jordan, Joe Jordan and wife, Jessie, Wade Norton, Jake Couturiaux, Sam Couturiaux, Melissa Couturiaux, Kaylie Ward, Gavin Wambach, Eliza Couturiaux, Tristan Pate, Gavin Pate, Elijah Jordan, Liana Jordan, Jacob Dennis, David Derossett, Brittany Dennis and Amelia Williams; and his beloved dog, Maggie.

Gene will be remembered as a wonderful husband and daddy, and a kind, loving, gentle man.

Services were 11:00 AM Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor Kevin Calhoun, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends visited Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
