surrounded by her family.
Verna was born in Evansville, IN on October 24, 1932 to the late Elmer and Flora (Kleinschmidt) Hahn. She was a 1950 graduate of Reitz High School and an avid Reitz football fan. She also enjoyed watching Cardinals baseball and Colts football. She and her husband, Don, traveled in their motor home all over the country after retiring. They also loved going to Prizer Point at Barkley Lake and eventually ended up with their camper at her homestead overlooking the Ohio River in Union Township near where she was raised. She worked for the school corporation in many different roles before retiring. She also loved going to her grandson's sporting events when they were in school and then her great grandkid's sporting events.
Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Don; brother, and sister-in-law, Orval and Betty Hahn; brother-in-law, Jim Montgomery, brother-in-law and sister’s-in-law, Bill and Joyce Hudson and Gene and Bonnie Hudson as well as two nephews.
Verna leaves behind daughters, Janie (Bob) Cummings and Judy (Robin) Fluty; grandson's, Donnie (Jessica) Cummings, Brett (Katie) Cummings, Seth Fluty (Kamron Watson), Trent (Ashley) Fluty, 4 great granddaughters and 3 great grandsons as well as a sister, Mildred Montgomery.
The family would like to thank the staff at Holiday Village Assisted Living and Heritage Hospice for all their care and compassion.
Friends may visit from 3:00 to 700 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Alexander West Chapel and on Saturday 9:00 a.m. until service time.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Alexander West Chapel officiated by Pastor Jeff Long with Entombment to follow in Alexander Memorial Park.
