She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 57 years. Shirley graduated from Rex Mundi High School in 1961. She worked at General Tire for 34 years. She loved her kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was known to her grandchildren as Bono, Nana, and Grandma. She loved to shop at QVC, enjoyed going to the horse races with her husband, collecting Fenton Art Glass, going to French Lick, Ferdinand, and going on day trips with her family. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church as a child. Shirley was the best cook, loved to bake and welcomed everyone with open arms.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Shari Ryan, Judith Wagner, and Nichole Bland.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 58 years William Roger Brown; daughters, Tamara “Tamie” West (Frank), Taryn Krohn (Chris); son, Roger Brown; brothers, Arthur “Smokey” Weber and Richard Weber; grandchildren, Lauren Unfried (Wesley), Christien West, Evan West, Aaron Krohn, Breann Joffray (Cody), Cameron Krohn and Liam Brown; great grandchildren, Ava and Gunner Krohn, Jaelynn Joffray, and Elliot Unfried; several nieces and nephews; two great grandchildren on the way.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Deaconess Midtown units 3900 and 5100, as well as the Linda E. White Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held noon Monday, January 27, 2020 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 704 N. First Ave officiated by Father Ted Tempel with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit 3-8 p.m. Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Alexander West Chapel and Monday 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
