Ronald J. Starks, 77, of Evansville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 25, 2010, at Deaconess Hospice Care Center. He was born June 19, 1932, in Evansville.
Ronald was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving on the USS Springfield. He was a member of Mill Road Baptist Church and loved to sing. He was a homebuilder and loved woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Christine Starks; daughter, Margaret Cassidy (Joe) of Downingtown, PA; son, Jeffrey Crawley (Betty) of Evansville; daughter, Debra Hobson (Greg) of Evansville; daughter, Terrye McIntire (John) of New Whiteland, IN; step daughter, Pamela Barber (Don) of Evansville; sister, Deanna Tallion (Stan) of Newburgh; sister, Joanna Ising of Evansville; brother, Jack Starks (Rosie) of Fordsville, KY; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Deaconess Hospice Care and visiting nurse, Marty Hollander.
Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, February 27, 2010, at Mill Road Baptist Church, 80 W. Mill Road, officiated by Reverends Bill Kellough and Karl Crowe with burial at Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel and Saturday from 11:00 AM until service time at the church.
