Ronald Lee Saltzman, 77, passed away on March 15, 2017 to join his wife of 54 years, Florence (Kissel), who left us on November 22, 2014. He is survived by son, Mark and his wife Michelle of Ft. Defiance, AZ; daughter, Dr. Dawn Marie Saltzman; his beloved grandchildren, Kimberly Seibert and Gary Richardson Jr; caregiver, Gary Richardson, Sr; twin brother, Donald of Chandler; sister Martha (Baize) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sister, Zelda (Conyers) and brothers, Walter “Bud” and Warren. Ronnie was born May 4, 1939 in Mt. Vernon, IN. He attended the old Evansville Central for three years and graduated from the new North Vocational School in 1957.He joined the IBEW Local 16 apprenticeship and was a union member for 58 years. He proudly mentored many successful apprentices, served on negotiation committees and worked on buildings throughout the Tri-State including North Park Shopping Center, Deaconess and the Buy-Low stores. The entry arch and floating swans for the Fantasy of Lights were his favorite projects. Ron was drafted by the US Army in May 1962 while working on missile silos near Tucson. He served at Ft. Eustis, VA then Ft. Knox, KY until May 1964. He was a member of the Hadi Shrine and served on the Director’s Staff. He was a member of the Hillbilly Clan #52, Constellation Lodge #752, the Knights Templar and the Scottish Rite. Ron will be remembered as a man who never met a stranger and always has a story to share. He enjoyed golf, skeet shooting and playing Clabber. Above all, he loved his family. Friends may visit from 3:00PM to 7:00PM, Monday, March 20, 2017 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road.
