Matthew Wayne Alvey

Matt currently worked for the last 8 years as a garment folder at Aramark Uniform Services (Vestis). He was an avid artist and recently became interested in wood burning. He loved traveling to haunted houses, horror conventions, and enjoyed the Halloween scene. Matt’s hobbies included cooking, grilling, and participating in his daughter’s sports activities, especially her softball teams.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Josephine and Philip Alvey, Sr., and Valeria and George Yeager, Sr.

Matt is survived by his wife of 13 years, Christy J. Alvey; daughter, Lindsey Alvey; step-son, Andrew Goins; parents, Dianna and Philip Alvey, Jr.; sister, Julie Calvert ( William “Justin”); nephews, Kaynin Capps and Kamron Capps (Kaybren).

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

A Prayer Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2024 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, Evansville, IN with Deacon Mike Seibert officiating. Family and friends may visit from 3:00 until service time at the funeral home. Private entombment will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
