Louis K. Joest, Sr.

Louis K. Joest, Sr., 96, of Evansville passed away Tuesday January 3, 2023. He was born October 22, 1926 in Wadesville to the late Leonard and Edith (Strauss) Joest. He was an Army veteran who served during the Korean War. Louis was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Louis was a dairy farmer in his early career. He later worked at Ohio Valley Hardware for over 20 years and went on to retire from The Good Samaritan Home after 20 years of employment. Louis was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Joest; son in law, Jerry Cooper; grandchildren, Bethany Weaver, Michelle Buchanan, Alexander Adams, and Brendan Peak; brothers, Wayne Joest, Donald Joest, John Joest, Paul Joest, Ralph Joest, and James Joest; sisters, Jeannette Reidford, Betty Wilhite, and Margaret Judy Barnes. He is survived by his children, Jeannie Weaver (Richard), Louis Kevin Joest, Jr. (Ana), Donna Buchanan (Michael), Cynthia Adams, Michael Joest (Cheryl), Karen Joest (Chris deCeasare), Marie Konnersman (Tobias), Kristonya Cooper, and Timothy Joest (Heather); brother, Joe Joest, 20 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday January 6, 2023 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. Bernie Ettiene, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday January 5, 2023 at Alexander East Chapel.
