Lou Verna Crowe Edwards

Lou Verna Crowe Edwards, 87, of Boonville, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021. She was born on December 6, 1933 in Nebo, Kentucky. Before Lou retired, she worked as a nurses aide at St. Mary’s Medical Center in the pediatrics unit. Lou was a former member of St. John Catholic Church in Evansville, She was an avid fisherwoman, enjoyed taking care of farm animals, and was an excellent marksman. Lou was preceded in death by her husbands, George R. Crowe, Jr. and Karl Edwards. She is survived by her daughters, Lulito Newsome (Dr. Jon A. Newsome, Sr.), Melissa Faye Allen (Gene Allen), and Venita Herring (Pastor Clifford B. Herring); son, Alphonzo Crowe; grandchildren, Jon Newsome, II (Cleiry Newsome), Mario Newsome, Kailey Newsome, C. Benjamin Herring, Titus B. Herring, and Daniel R. Herring; great-grandchildren, Khai Newsome and London Newsome; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Christian Fellowship Church with her son-in-law, Pastor Clifford Herring officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
