The world has lost a great lady. Letitia “Scotty” Robertson was reunited with her adored husband, Herb, in Heaven on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. She began her extraordinary life in Glasgow, Scotland, the eldest of six children.
A brilliant student and very ambitious, she immigrated to America in 1964 to work for the Australian ambassador in Washington, D.C. On January 8, 1965, she married Herbert Earl Robertson, Jr. of Evansville. Their son, Herbert Earl III, was born in Scotland in 1966 and their daughter, Heather, arrived in 1971. Letitia was fiercely loyal to all her family and will be greatly missed by her children, granddaughters, great-grandsons, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews. She very much loved her sister-in-law, Debra Fay Hape, and the “sister of her heart”, Nancy Collins, who cared for her since Herb’s death.
Letitia loved reading, traveling, Bingo, and her cat, Callie. Feisty, generous and fun, no one who met Letitia will ever forget her.
Letitia was preceded in death by her husband, Herb Robertson II; and her parents, Letitia and Charles Rochford.
She is survived by her son, Herb Robertson III of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Heather Lyons of Glasgow, Scotland; granddaughters, Scarlett (Doug Harn) Robertson, Erica Fay Golike of Bowling Green, KY, and Summer Lyons of Glasgow, Scotland; great-grandsons, Mason and Liam Harn of Evansville, IN; brothers, James (Margaret) Rochford and Charles (Carol) Rochford; sisters, Maureen (Victor) Clarke, Kathleen Grey and Helen Mitchell; and sister-in-law, Debbie (Steve) Hape of Memphis, TN; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Lionel Reed Phelps, with burial in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
