Karen J. Mortensen

Karen J. Mortensen, 81, of Evansville passed away Monday December 11, 2023. She was born May 8, 1942 in St. Paul, MN to the late George and Jean (Gray) Davis. She was a member of the Daughters of Charity, P.E.O International and the Evansville Kennel Club. Karen was also a successful business woman and owner of Castle Properties, Inc. She had served on the board for the Timberlake Condominium Association. Karen is remembered as a loving mother and wife. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and former husband, Bruce Mortensen. She is survived by her husband, David Johnston; daughters, Kendra Mortensen and Jennifer Kormelink; step-children, Lee Mortensen and Barbara Bosecker; grandchildren, Aleks Mortensen and Afton Mortensen; step-grandchildren, Ryan, Alyce and Logan Bosecker; sisters, Peggy Svetin and Konny Froelke (Steven); and brother, Jim Davis. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday December 15, 2023 at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Pastor Steven Froelke, with entombment to follow in Alexander Memorial Park.
