Kansas Nadine Terry, 94, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012, at John & Betty Charlier Hospice Center. She was born August 14, 1917, in Robards, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Terry; father, Brady Johnson; mother, Ara Johnson; brother, Harvey Johnson; and sister, Louise Kirby. Kansas leaves in her memory her son, James L. Terry and his wife, Mattie, a very devoted daughter-in-law; daughters-in-law, Florence Terry of Racine, WI and Morine Hatchett of Henderson, KY; grandsons, Vincent, James-Darryl and Brian; granddaughter, Kelly Nadine; grandchildren, Susan Hamilton and Dallas (Lee) Terry; many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; foster sons, Herbert Montgomery and James Anderson; foster granddaughter, Veronica Smith; niece, Mae McNary; great-niece, Latanya; great-nephew, Stanley; cousins, Sharon First, Wanda Cobb and Trent Alvis; first cousin, Camilla Johnson; many other relatives; and a host of friends. Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me. Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free. I’m following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard His call. I turned my back and left it all. I lived a long healthy life. I knew I was loved, you did all you could for me. My life’s been full, it’s part of God’s plan. Now I must go. The Family. Kansas was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and cooking. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of VNA Charlier Hospice Center and Mr. Bruce Baker and the staff of Newburgh Healthcare for their care and compassion. Services will be 9:00 AM Friday, February 24, 2012, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Adrian Brooks, with burial in Lincoln Memory Gardens in Indianapolis. Friends may visit Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
