She was a member of Bethel Temple and always looked forward to attending church. In her early working years, she was employed at Heinz Ketchup during the first days of computers and automation. She later retired from the Evansville State Hospital where she worked as a QMA. She enjoyed her work and would often bring home patients with no families during the holidays. She also enjoyed having lunch with her co-workers.
Judy was a practical, fun loving mom who loved to dance. She especially loved dancing the jitterbug with her sisters. She enjoyed walking in forest preserves and feeding ducks, baking, cards and dice games, and bowling with her co-workers from the State Hospital. She adored animals, especially her dogs and birds. Judy routinely donated to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and the ASPCA.
She was preceded in death by her brother, James Halas; sister, Marie Svedja; and grandson, Austin Lax.
Judy is survived by her children, Charles Stanek (Chris), Kathryn Stanek, Mark Stanek (Hong), Jennifer Stanek, Michael Halas, and twins Angela Fravel (James) & Amy Wedge (Andrew); 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Lynn Jackson (Jim).
