She attended Bosse High School and then started her family. One of her proudest achievements was being the owner and operator of the Silver Queen Restaurant in Calico Ghost Town, CA. She created costumes to fit in with the restaurant’s era of the 1860’s - Wild West. She and her husband, Bobbie, participated in many functions pertaining to the old west. Joyce was a fun loving person and had many talents and hobbies, including costume making, dancing, camping and cooking for her family. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, Bobbie E. Pace, Sr.; two infant brothers, Junior and Sonny; and parents, Martin and Inez Effinger.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen (Garrett) Phelps and Sandy (Steve) Doan; sons, Albert E. Daub, Jr. and Bobbie E. Pace, Jr.; daughter, Candie (John) Pace; grandson, Robert Haar; granddaughters, Bonnie and Destiny Phelps; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne and Alexander Haar; sisters, Sylvia Bruce of Evansville and Rita (Paul) White of Phoenix, AZ; several nephews; a special niece, Shawna; and great-nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Bishop Dan Patrick and Mark Schauss, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and Wednesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
