Jacquelyn Jackson

Jackie was born on June 2, 1940 in Evansville, Indiana to Clarence Klueg and Laura (Leistner) Klueg. She attended Trinity Lutheran School in Darmstadt and graduated from F.J. Reitz High School in 1958. She studied accountancy at Evansville College/University of Evansville from September 1959 to June 1962.

In her youth, Jackie enjoyed performing in plays and musicals and participating in math competitions.

Jackie used her gift with numbers to work as an accountant/bookkeeper for several businesses, including Traylor Brothers and Kahn, Dees, Donovan & Kahn, where she was the financial administrator for 40 years. She was a member of the American Society of Women Accountants for many years. During the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, she worked as a part-time manager at the USA Roller Skating Rink, in addition to her regular full time job.

Jackie was member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Darmstadt, IN. She is well-remembered for her great sense of humor. She enjoyed roller skating and competed on figure circles for several years. She also enjoyed attending many musicals, plays, concerts and other events, especially those in which her daughters participated. She was always excited to look at and give input on architectural plans, having designed the house she lived in for many years. She liked to read, especially her devotions and her newspaper. She enjoyed watching TV, especially news, General Hospital and Hallmark movies with her daughters. She loved working on word search puzzles. She enjoyed going out to eat and spending time with family and friends. She had friends of many ages and often deepened those friendships through social media, texts and calls. She was known for hiding desserts from her daughter, but often felt the need to share after all. She traveled to different areas of the country and to Europe. Jackie took great pleasure in balancing her check book to the penny.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Judy Simmons; and sister, JoAnne Manzi.

She is survived by her daughters, Dana Meyer and Michelle “Shelley” (Tad) Sylivant and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family would like to thank the Heart to Heart Hospice House for the compassionate and loving care she received.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 4 from 3 to 7 pm at Alexander Funeral Home North Chapel (4200 Stringtown Road, Evansville, IN).

On Saturday, October 5, there will be a visitation at Trinity Lutheran Church (Darmstadt, IN) at 10 am. A service will follow at the church at 11 am, officiated by Pastor James Glowinski. The burial will be at the church cemetery.
