Helen worked in the food service industry her whole life, with the last 14 years at St. Vincent’s Dietary Department. She enjoyed the company of the many coworkers she had throughout the years. Helen was a hard worker and worked full-time until retiring at the age of 80. She attended Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, with family. Some of Helen’s favorite activies included, reading, cooking, and shopping, especially for her grandson, Nicholas. She loved and cared for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward E. Shelton; son, Edward D. Shelton; brothers, Ernest Ray Malin and Danny Malin; sisters, Patricia Delgado and Corrine Baughn; and her parents.
Helen is survived by her sons, Ronnie and Dennis Shelton; daughter-in-law, Tonya Shelton; grandson, Nicholas Shelton; and sister, Linda Kinsey.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor Robert Reinhardt, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends and family may visit Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
