Tid was a 1947 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where she was a member of Tri-Delta Sorority along with her sister Sally. She was a United States Navy Veteran and served during WWII as a pharmacist’s mate. Tid was a founding member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir for many years, taught Sunday school, was a Deacon, and member of the Women’s Association. She was active in her children’s school, Dexter Elementary, where she served in the PTA. Tid was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed traveling places with her sister Sally. She volunteered at the Hen House craft store and was a member of the Garden Club, Petroleum Wives, and the American Association of University Women.
Tid was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jonathan Douglas Turner; brother, Richard Travis Lipscomb, Jr.; and sister, Sarah Louise Lipscomb Bybee.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Turner (Stefan Jovanovich), Sally Turner, and Jane Turner (Bernard Hevin); grandchildren, Lillianna Joseph, Matthew Joseph, and Nora Jovanovich Fojtik; and great-grandchildren, Walter Jonathan Fojtik and Clara Elizabeth Fojtik.
A Memorial Service will be held at Eastminster Presbyterian Church at a later date. A Private Entombment will be held at Oak Hill Mausoleum Chapel.
