She worked 20 years for Sears as the Catalog Sales Manager. After leaving Sears, Eleanor worked as a cafeteria lady at Stringtown Elementary School for several years.
Eleanor was a member of the First Christian Church of Evansville. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Holtzclaw; brothers, Walter Scott, Herbert Scott, Malcom Scott, Lloyd Scott, Edward Scott, and Marvin Scott; and sister, Mary Brinker.
Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Betty Jeffries (Melvin) of Evansville and Rosie Carson (Don) of Westport, IN; brother, Harold Scott (Norma) of Alabama; and sister, Doris Chapman of Florida; grandchildren, Eric Jeffries (Anita), Toby Jeffries (Jamie), Randy Carson (Vicki), Bill Carson, and Dennis Carson; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Locust Hill Mausoleum Chapel, officiated by Pastor Jerry Clark. Family and friends may gather from 10:00 AM until service time.
