She graduated from Bosse High School and Lockyear’s Business College. After graduating from Lockyear’s, she was a receptionist for Drs. Hefti and Hoopes. Doris enjoyed traveling with her husband and always enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and many friends. She was active with Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts while her children were young. She was very active at Garvinwood Baptist Church for many years and played the piano for several quartets. She is now a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ.
Doris is survived by her husband of 65 years, Melvin, a daughter, Jane Hodge (Husband, John), a son, Thomas (Wife, Gloria) three grandchildren, Michele Blankenship (James), Chad Schwartz, Joshua Hodge (Lauren) and three great grandchildren, Arielle, Jacob and Ashleigh Blankenship.
We would like to thank Casey and the other Vista Care Hospice workers and the caregivers for the tender loving care and love given to Doris and her family.
Services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel officiated by Rev. Lynn Marino. Friends may visit Wednesday 10:00AM until service time at the Cemetery Chapel.
