He proudly served his country in the Army during WWII. Clifton worked as the Payroll Supervisor for Bucyrus Erie before retiring after 44 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and having fish fry's on Father's Day. He also enjoyed square and round dancing. Music was a big part of his life, from the marching band at Reitz High School to becoming the choir director at 12th Avenue General Baptist Church, of which he was a lifetime member.
Clifton was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Margie Raye Townsend.
He is survived by his daughters, Peggy Husk of Athens, TN, Lynda Hostettler of Mt. Vernon, IN, Connie Noffsinger and Donna Lynch, both of Newburgh, IN; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great, great-grandchildren.
