In the early thirties he moved with his parents to Dixon, KY., where he spent his formative years until graduating from Dixon High School in 1948. After graduating from high school, he was employed by a local manufacturing firm. In September, 1950, he volunteered for military service in the U.S. Air Force, attending military police school. While in the military, he was stationed at various U.S. locations, and then served for two years in Guam during the Korean Conflict. After discharge from the Air Force, he enrolled in Lockyear Business College and subsequently was employed by the U.S. Civil Service Commission at Camp Breckenridge, Ky. In 1956 he began his employment with the IBM Corporation in Evansville, retiring in 1987 with over 30 years of service. During his beginning years with IBM, he attended night school at Evansville College, earning a certificate in Office Management.
After his children were born, his hobbies included being a hands-on dad, attending all the
children's school activities, including many, many musical performances. In later years
his hobbies were taking care of his home, gardening, and participating with his wife in
various church-related volunteer programs as well as a weekly volunteer day with the
American Red Cross delivering blood to various outlying Indiana hospitals. His hobbies
also included listening to and attending symphonic music programs. He and his wife Sue were members of the Methodist Temple for over 50 years where they were involved as volunteers in various community service projects.
Cle was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Carl Kenneth Watson.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sue; daughter, Andrea (Mike) Buchanan of Waynesville, North Carolina; son, Kirby (Hang) Watson of Austin, Texas; and several step –grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Alexander East Chapel with Pastor Andy Payton officiating. Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. A Private Entombment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.
