Christopher David Whiteley

Christopher D. “Chris” Whiteley, 46, of Evansville, IN passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024 at his home. He was born in Belleville, IL on January 16, 1978 to William W. and Kathleen (Schwartz) Whiteley. Chris was a member of Annunciation Parish and the West Side Nut Club. He worked as the Maintenance Supervisor at Alexander Memorial Park for the last 12 years. He previously worked at Piranha Mobile Shredding and GAF in Mt. Vernon, IN. Chris enjoyed attending sporting events, concerts, attending his children’s activities and was a whiz in the kitchen. Chris loved being outdoors and was a huge fan of the Cardinals, Pacers and Colts. Chris always put others ahead of himself and through his example has shown what it means to face your challenges head on. He battled GIST cancer the past 5 years but never stopped working, cheering on his kids, or helping others and through all this he continued to smile. Words will never express the love we had for him or the impact he had on everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Jay Perigo. Chris is survived by his wife of 20 years, Kacie (Perigo) Whiteley; son, Ryland Whiteley; daughters, Eislin Whiteley, Dylan Whiteley; brother, Shannon Whiteley (Lori); mother-in-law, Cindy Perigo; sister-in-law, Haley Schmitt (Chris); brother-in-law, Matt Perigo; nieces and nephews, Camren, Alaina, Nathan, Lexi, Kahra, Kainen, Nyla, Trace, and India; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 22, 2024 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois St., with Dennis Nettles officiating.
