She retired from Good Samaritan Home as a certified nursing assistant. Charlene was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed cooking and cleaning for her family and making people laugh. Charlene was kind-hearted, selfless, and forgiving.
Charlene is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill W. Chapman, Sr.; daughters, Connie Backi, Becky Brooks; sons, Kevin and Curtis Chapman; brothers and sisters, Jim Ashby, Sr., Mae Knight, Joan Frazier, and Norman Ashby.
She is survived by granddaughter and caregiver, Cari Chapman; daughters, Darla Taylor, Leesa Mays; sons, Bill Chapman, Jr., Kenny Chapman; sister, Anita Kissel; 13 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, officiated by Father Ted Tempel. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
