She retired from the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center and attended Terrace Parke General Baptist Church.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, William Barfield; parents, Roy and Margaret Powless; and brother, David Powless.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Kevin) Valandra; son, Brian (Robin) Barfield; grandchildren, Aaron, Brittany, Allyson and Christian; brothers, James and Ronald Powless; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were10:00 AM Monday, July 16, 2012, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jim Rudolph, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends visited Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
