Buren “Michael” Hardin, 67, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013, at home with his wife by his side.
He worked at Kem Motors in Evansville as a mechanic for ten years then also at General Foods as a maintenance mechanic for 20 years. In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball and coaching youth sports. He also enjoyed traveling and hanging out with his buddies. He loved spending time with his friends and family. His favorite spot was known as “Mike’s Corner” at his house where he sat outside and friends from all over Evansville would stop and have a drink and visit.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Buren O. and Susie M. Hardin.
He was a loving husband of 46 years to Betty Lou (Miller) Hardin and a devoted father of two sons, Brian Michael (Susan) Hardin and Jeffery Wayne (Paula) Hardin. He is also survived by three sisters, Sue McLure of Memphis, TN, Helen Lane and Wanda (Charlie) Buedel; grandchildren, Kristen and Shawna Sisk, Courtney Babb and Brock, Bo and Wyatt Hardin; nephews, Jimmy, Tony and Timothy McLure, all of Memphis, TN and Chris and Dustin Buedel; extended family and many, many friends.
Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, February 25, 2013, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor Ken Raymes, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
