Betty J. (Baker) Jackson, 94, of Evansville passed away Wednesday January 3, 2023. She was born July 26, 1928 in Correctionville, IA to the late Heath and Ora (Abel) Baker. The family then moved to Alfordsville in her early years.
Her hobbies included dominoes, camping, bunco, and sewing. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Betty was a part of the Vanderburgh County Home Extension, and was involved with the Vanderburgh County 4H. She was a sales representative for Avon and Amway. She was the proud homemaker and wife of a 2nd generation farmer and loved caring for her family and the farm. Betty was a strong, determined, and independent person, and dearly loved her family. She always made sure to stay close with her brothers, sisters, and extended family.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Jackson; and siblings, Wilber Baker, Oral Baker, Robert Baker, and Naomi Hamersly.
She is survived by her children, Dalles Mooney, Kenneth Jackson (Shiela), Wesley "Buddy"Jackson (Carolyn), Debi Phillips (Terry), Darlene Bogacki, Stacy Strohmeyer (Tony), and Dawn Atherton (Jerry); 21 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Shock, Esther Hendrick, and Mary McCall; and many nieces, nephews, and extended Bakersville family.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday January 7, 2022 at Alexander North Chapel, with burial in Blue Grass Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
