Alvin retired from Bristol-Myers Squibb in 1985 after 26 years of service. He was a West Side Little League coach and manager for 13 years. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. Alvin was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1114 having served in the Army Air Force during WWII. He played guitar in his band at the Haymaker's and was a professional tap dancer in the Servel Minstrels.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Annetta Moore and brother, Ronald Moore.
Alvin is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret (Eileen); son, Thomas (Barbara) Moore; granddaughter, Julia Moore; grandson, Patrick Moore; great-granddaughter, Margaret Couch; great-grandson, Nicholas Couch; and sister, Beverly Sue.
Services will be 10:00AM Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jeff Long; with burial in Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit, Friday, May 24, 2013, from 4:00PM until 8:00PM and Saturday from 9:00AM until service time at the funeral home.
